Wimbledon contemporary take on a traditional kitchen

This contemporary take on a traditional style kitchen has a number of functional features which add to the aesthetics of the design. The client’s subtle use of finishes and details really enhance the understated, elegance of this kitchen.
Classy little knobs with the back plate fixed diagonally and the colour choice are some examples of this.
The painted mantle and side panels create a striking, feature and the granite shelf behind the range is handy for those items you want to hand when cooking. Easy to wipe clean too, as are the tiles in the chimney area - an alternative to standard backsplashes!
In order to create more space for the dining area the units are staggered in depth which adds an element of interest to an otherwise straight, long, run.

Freestanding kitchen

Thought I would bring this one up from last year just because it perfectly illustrates what you should do to your kitchen if you have a higgledy piggledy house and an achingly cool black and white slate and marble floor.

Pop a calm coloured simple unit into every nook and cranny (Not trying to compete with the floor) and don't join any of them up. What you are left with is something homely with plenty of storage that doesn't try and change the room into something it isn't. Throw in a couple of glam light fittings and your there.

Tall cabinet banks

Not many rooms can take huge tall banks of cabinets but they are can be very effective in providing a large amount of storage and hiding of appliances.

This bank of units is hiding a small pullout to the right hand side with an integrated fridge next to the oven. An integrated dishwasher is hidden on the left of the oven near the sink.

The ceiling is very high in this kitchen and the units are 2650mm high making them the highest units we have ever made. All we are doing here is effectively bringing the wall forward and as this part of the room is long it can be shortened without compromising the room too much. Certainly better than putting up wall cabinets above the sink wall.
