Times - Corian in 'Bricks & Mortar'

In last Friday's issue of the Times you may have spotted an article expounding the great benefits of using Corian in modern, stylish designs. Carol Lewis, Business Features Editor for the newspaper, spoke to our founder and director, Timothy Higham, regarding his experiences with the material, and why he feels it is only going to grow in popularity.

As well as the classically simple shaker kitchens we are becoming known for, Higham Furniture has also begun designing kitchens that are, externally, entirely finished in Corian. This gives a really clean, fresh feel to the kitchen, with smooth lines and few breaks. We still use wood for the carcasses and internal finishes however, which really helps to warm up the kitchen and save it from feeling too clinical. The example detail shown here, a sneak peek at a recently installed project, is from a handleless kitchen in Glacier White Corian, with internal details crafted from Oak.

If you are looking for an up to date, modern kitchen, Corian may be the right choice for you. You can read about the options on our website, or feel free to get in touch to talk it through.

To read more about the buzz surrounding Corian, Carol's article can be found online, as part of Bricks & Mortar, the Times' property supplement.
